Natalie Bain

Veterinary Nurse

Growing up, Natalie had big dreams of working in the veterinary profession but initially life had other things in store for her.

She was in her late twenties and busy raising a family when Natalie first started working in a veterinary practice.  At that time, she worked part-time in a rural practice in Cambridge.  The majority of the case load was equine and large animals but there were a few cats and dogs as well.  After several years and some great experiences, Natalie had the opportunity of being employed full-time at a small animal clinic in Cambridge.  It was there that she decided to gain her qualification as a veterinary nurse.  She  enrolled in a long-distance Animal Care course at Otago Polytechnic and completed the certificate in Veterinary Nursing, with excellence.

In February 2011, Natalie was offered a position here at Veterinary Specialist Orthopaedic Services.  She is now immersed in her new career, she is challenged every day and loving it!

Donna Holland

Veterinary Nurse

Donna graduated with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing from Massey University in 2004.  Sticking to the lower north island she worked in both mixed and small animal clinics and enjoying the daily challenge of her chosen profession.

In 2009, travel called and she left New Zealand for two years working abroad in London, UK.  Here, (apart from travelling as much as two years allowed) she worked as Head Veterinary Nurse at a referral hospital in south west London.  Here she was able to extend my skills considerably, particularly in surgical and post operative nursing.

However, for her home is definitely where the heart is and she happily returned to New Zealand in June 2011.  Donna is excited to be able to work in a surgical nurse capacity where she will utilising and extending the skills she gained overseas.
